Our coordinator Community Action Dacorum has organised two Multiplier Events in the UK on February 24th and April 14th, respectively, where a total of 35 participants were attracted.
During three hours, the project’s aims and results were showcased. The events also focused on the training course developed by Joint Venture and its benefits for entrepreneurs at risk of social exclusion. Finally, the project’s website and social media channels were promoted for any interesting party.
Participants
- Staff at the Job Centre, Department Work and Pensions
- People interested in starting their own employment and/or SE.
- NGO workers
- Mentors
- Job Coaches
- Local administrators
Multiplier event at the Job Club
The first event took place in Hemel Hempstead’s Job Club, run by an NGO called The South Hill Centre, where people come in looking for employment and support with tasks such as writing a CV. They work with volunteer employment advisors to find employment.
This project training was very relevant to this target group because some of them were at the margins of society and were looking at opportunities for self-employment and setting up SE.
Multiplier event at the Department of Work and Pensions
The second event was run in conjunction with the Job Centre Plus and the Department of Work and Pensions. They run weekly or fortnightly job fairs inviting many NGOs and small companies to exhibit to attract new recruits as well as giving opportunities to the people who are seeking employment to talk to potential employers.
For people who are seeking employment and looking for training, this was a perfect opportunity to learn about how to access this course and do the training at their own pace.
